First of all - the man was a murderer. No way of getting around it.
Unfortunately, his music is also part of the soundtrack of my life. I grew up listening to my Dad play the albums he produced. Some of the greatest hits he produced featured prominently in movies during my teen years, because the teenagers who grew up on them were the adults creating the movies of my adolescence. His Christmas album - considered by many the greatest of all time - is inextricably linked with my best childhood holiday memories.
I read that Darlene Love has stated that she has very mixed feelings right now. I have to agree.
