How are you doing these days?

as for clothing, even a slightly rough seam can irritate, the rash is so sensitive. I had it in winter, I think I wore an old soft teeshirt with a lightweight fleece over. At least he doesn't have to tackle the 'ditching the bra' scenario...

I'm so happy to see that TORn is still appreciated by filmmakers et al. So proud!!! :D I'm also grateful for the synopsis. Shamefully, I haven't been able to keep up with these early years of Amazon's LotR, but I'm very much eagerly anticipating having it come to life! It's quiet in my world, which is great! Being in an area that has both a casino and university, the chance of bumping into Covid is very high. Thankfully my niece has recovered enough to return to work, and my Balti daughter and sister have both gotten vaccine shots this week. I've filled out the form to get myself in the works, but I really don't expect anything to happen until March. In the meantime, all is well and I'm just riding each wave as they come along ;) I'm going to grab a hot chocolate and watch Cliff on TT again :D Thanks for taking such great care of us Altaira! Stay Safe!

My g'son just told me that his 2 roommates and he put together puzzles all the time. They're all really good about isolating as much as they can... and this is apparently one of their mostest funnest activities ;) Stay safe, warm and dry! We're already halfway through January!!! 10,000 weeks to go until Spring! :D

I talked about degendering the Jungian concepts of anima and animus, which have traditionally been seen as very much tied to gender (anima was originally defined by Jung as the "inner feminine" side of a man, and animus the "inner masculine" side of a woman). I suggested a different way of viewing the energies and tied it to neuroscience: anima as arising from the hindbrain, which talks to us in images and emotion, and animus as arising from the forebrain, which likes words and action. It went over very well. In particular nonbinary folks, or those who have nonbinary family members or who do therapy with such, said they found it very useful.

He's been hit hard. I pray the treatment takes hold and he feels better very soon! I'm so glad you're getting your vaccine this week :D My Balti daughter and sister got their first shot this past week! Both said they felt a little punky the next day, but nothing scary or difficult to deal with. The following day they felt back to normal. The thing they have to remember is that even after the second shot, it's about 2-3 weeks before it reaches full potency in your system. I think of the 2 shots as boosters on a rocket. The first booster carries the rocket up to its first height and the second carries it up the rest of the way until they reach orbit. I'm very happy you've had some quiet time to just veg out and prepare for your zoom... which I hope went well :D I'm concerned you felt the need to clean *twitch* but that's my personal hang-up ;) *bows deeply* Here's hoping your week goes GREAT and your "arming" is reassuring :D

I'm so sorry. I hope it doesn't get any worse and that the treatments work. My Mom had it across her back her last few days before she passed away, and it was agony for her. It's like having your skin on fire. My sister had it 5 years ago and is constantly fighting to keep it under control. She has many health issues, so her resistance is low. She won't be able to get the vaccine because of her many allergies. I'm glad you got out for a walk, but bummed your allergies aren't cooperating. I hope your week goes great and your Mom's promise of getting her shot gives her some relief :)

It helps to get through the isolation and restrictions when you KNOW it works on getting the infections under control; but it's definitely not fun. I'm glad you're in an area where you can get in some great walks and that your bubble is intact, but I'm sure its hard to walk in the city where the sidewalks make keeping a distance hard to do. My g'son just said on a phone call that he's worried that I'm so isolated from people. The last time I had people in my house or got a hug was last August when we took my g'son back to Iowa for his last year of college. But I'll tell you what... I've got a great treasure and ooodles of cuddles with my pup, Pickle! I'm betting I get more snuggling and joy from this little guy than many people have in their human interactions. He makes me laugh every day and is my shadow; but knows when to go chill and give me some quiet. What a joy he is! :D

during the spring, but there are people far worse off than me who need that freedom far more. My furry family funster is visiting tomorrow morning, I'm taking him out for a walk while my daughter settles the boys into their Monday morning schooling routine. He'll clatter around my place for a while until I take him home at lunchtime. Your Pickle is a delightful little soul - a dog's companionship is a very special thing. As for hugs - although I see her quite regularly I've had just three hugs with my daughter since March last year. *sniff* Ah well, we just have to be patient, stay safe and ride out this storm!

I did clean! I'm on a perpetual mission to clear out and organize this house my folks lived in for over 60 years. This weekend it was the front hall closet which was crammed full of odd things, like old cassette tapes, a broken cat carrier, and about 100 tote bags. I'm installing a series of hooks on one side to hold a sufficient supply of bags for when we can start using them at the grocery store again. You can actually see the floor of the closet now and walk into it. Alas Dad had an episode of confusion at my sister's in the middle of the night, which caused a fall. He's okay but I had to go get him a day early and I think that's the last night away from home for him . . . he's been to her house many times, but his cognition at night is declining and it's too risky.

It seems like it's not getting *worse*, which is all one can hope for at this point. Yes, that's how he describes it too - he's also compared it to having a cactus pressed up against your body. Ugh! Thanks! I hope you and Pickle had a nice weekend as well. He's such a cute little guy - but I'm sure he doesn't need anyone to tell him that.

Thank Goodness he's alright physically, but it could have been so bad! Improvement of that is questionable... and sad. I'm so sorry. Day visits would be nice, but may be harder logistically. It certainly would affect your cleaning during those free times... which are important for you! I found my Mom's closet floor once! I took pictures ;)

finally heard about our cousins

we had tried to call on Saturday and got my cousin who said she was fine, but didn't know who we were talking about when we asked about her husband! Must have been the famous brain fog. Apparently he was in the room with her but he has been harder hit and has trouble talking for long. So we were left not knowing . . . was he there, was he in the hospital, was he . . . ? I tried calling the care facility, but with the HIPAA rules of course they couldn't tell us anything. My cousins have no children and all her sibs are dead so we are arguably their closest relatives, apart from a nephew, but we couldn't get through. But today there was a post on FB from someone who had actually talked to Robert. He still has a terrible cough and is so shaky he can't type, hence no communication, but they are together. They are both Episcopalian ministers and have a LOT of people praying for them. We have our verification that we are eligible to get the vaccine now, but can't find a place that is giving shots to our tier. We're aware that it will be a 6-week process.

Jennifer is a "brittle diabetic" so we were more concerned about her, but apparently Robert who has always been healthy got hit much harder.
