Filming of the TV series is probably delayed again Can't Post

There's been no announcement from Amazon, but it's almost certain that the show is or will soon be on hiatus again because the Auckland region has gone into level 3 lockdown from midday today. That means working from home unless you're an essential worker or it's impossible to work from home (which is technically true for actors but there are also requirements around social distancing and maximum numbers in a building).

I thought NZ eradicated Covid? [In reply to] Can't Post

What happened?

My writing and novels:

My Hobbit Fanfiction

My historical novel print and kindle version

My historical novels ebook version compatible with all ereaders

You can also find my novel at most major book retailers online (and for those outside the US who prefer a print book, you can find the print version at Book Depository). Search "Amazing Grace Amanda Longpre'" to find it.

Happy reading everyone!

Eliminated, not eradicated. [In reply to] Can't Post

Smallpox has been eradicated, for instance. Elimination is when you get cases down to zero in a specific region but it still exists elsewhere in the world, which is why we have new cases of community transmission.

NZ residents and some essential workers can travel to the country, and new cases have been caught at the border while these arrivals are in 14-day mandatory quarantine. However, the source of this community transmission is unknown; it's possible it came in on the surface of refrigerated goods but the transmission train is still being investigated.

We went 102 days without community transmission. The health authorities warned us that community cases were likely eventually but the increase in lockdown levels is still a blow.

I'm sorry for you NZ people ... [In reply to] Can't Post

... and I hope you will be able to eliminate it again ... you're so brave - I mean, of course, people have to be in many places, but that doesn't make the endurance of the people of NZ any less valuable.

Sorry to see this. [In reply to] Can't Post

Not because of the halt to filming - it's only a television series - but for the people of New Zealand. NZ was doing so well with Covid, an example and an inspiration to the rest of the world.

Of course it helps to be an island. I am Canadian and my country is not doing too badly now, especially considering the 9000 k border between us and our struggling neighbour to the south, but we have constant outbreaks too,
