Characters I’d like to see on the series some day:

Herendil - Isildur and Anarions kid brother who became one of the Kings men. Elentir - Amandils older brother who was betrothed to the crown-princess, maybe executed by the king, since he wasn’t alive at the downfall. There are some drama in their stories that could be used well...

The map for the show is clearly dated to before the Forging of the Great Rings, so I should think that's the epoch that they are adapting at the moment. The other major events of the Second Age - these being Akallabeth and the Last Alliance - happen over 1600 years removed from the end of Sauron's War with the Elves: well over three Numenorean lifetimes, so you can't expect Amazon to just leap across the timeline and overhaul a large part of their cast in so doing. Really, do we want just ONE season to cover the Forging of the Rings and the War?

It’s just my hope thar the show will be fine and continue for years, and they won’t forget these ‘forgotten’ characters. There’s surely many more, Tal Elmar for one.

...that the show will remain focused primarily on the second millennium of the Second Age, though it could yet turn out to be a multi-generational saga that ends with the War of the Last Alliance. Those later years might yet be saved for a sequel series. I"m personally hoping to see Glorfindel and Círdan play major roles in the series in the Councils of the Wise.

Those later years might yet be saved for a sequel series. It'll probably be better that way. The Forging of the Rings and War of Sauron and the Elves could fill five seasons.
