I've heard that one about the shoes on the table [In reply to] Can't Post

But I don't remember my mom saying the shoes had to be new ones, I thought she was just warning us against making the table dirty! Laugh

Um...no. [In reply to] Can't Post

No way would I walk across that glass floor, either! Laugh

Your dog ate it? That poor clover was unlucky!

Never heard of "touched by a broom", but very glad it came in handy! One wonders how some of these superstitions got started.

Do you have [In reply to] Can't Post

a bit of yard at the front of your house? You could set up a parking area and charge for the privilege! Angelic

It is hard to believe it's been a year since that horrid event. Thoughts and prayers to all those whose lives were affected by this. Unsure

How wonderful that you were able [In reply to] Can't Post

to finally get together again! The little Lumpkin is a teenager? Where in the world have these years gone!

It seems like everyone is stocking up a bit, "just in case". What's funny around here is that the stores are running out of toilet paper! Have you seen this? https://www.reddit.com/...t_affects_all_of_us/

My hubby and son decided to visit the local prepared-food store and stock up on their favorite meals. My freezer is now chock-full. Tongue

An excellent idea! [In reply to] Can't Post

Midgey could make brief appearances, for a price. My cousin lived beside Eden Park back in the day. He and his flatmates would charge for parking and also heat up pizzas in their oven and sell them by the slice.

Funnily enough, [In reply to] Can't Post

I walked past those red flowers in that very spot today - 8 of them in full bloom. It made me think of you. Heart

Paper sickness! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm pleased to say that both the supermarkets we regularly visit are still thoroughly well-stocked with toilet paper. Hand sanitiser... not so much.

I love my two black cats, but [In reply to] Can't Post

must confess to throwing spilled salt over the left shoulder, and crossing myself when hearing an ambulance or passing a reposo (flowers and crosses marking the scene of a fatal accident). We were forbidden to place hats or hairbrushes on tables, but that was more about hygiene than superstition.
Thanks for the memories!

Black cats are most often very sweet [In reply to] Can't Post

I think they know they have to work a little harder against the bad rep they carry ;) The hats/hairbrush on the table makes sense! I guess that means no feet on the table, too ;)

HUGS!
