LOTR on Prime Theatrical Release? Can't Post

I was wondering, would it be a good move if the studio decides a theatrical release of the first or at least first two episodes? Pros and cons? Will it draw a big audience/subscription to Prime? More LOTR fans?

I for myself is quite giddy of that thought, Second Age Middle-Earth and Numenor could at least get a big-screen moment they deserve, if for at least two eps :)

Well, there is precedent. [In reply to] Can't Post

It wouldn't be he first time that the first two or three episodes of a television series was edited together and released as a feature film. I remember this being done with the first episodes of the original Battlestar Galactica, with the resulting movie being released overseas. And this was done with the first story-arc of the anime OVA (original video animation) The Record of Lodoss War, I think for the Sci Fi Channel (before it was Syfi). I've seen entire seasons of anime series condensed into single movies for Japan, notably with Space Battleship Yamato (a.k.a. Star Blazers).
