The weekend has been long...Saturday we had my Dad-in-law's burial, then a Celebration of Life at the church (it was packed, he was well-loved by everyone). All his kids and most grandkids and their families were able to come. Now to help Mom-in-law transition to being alone after nearly 70 years married to her sweetheart...
But I am enjoying having my girls out here from Chicago for a couple more days.

*big hug* all weekend. It's so good to see you :) The wonderful participation of so many people must have been a comfort to your Mom-in-law, hubby... to all of you. Such a long, difficult transition for Mom and everyone. It's wonderful that you're all so close.
We're having warm weather ALL WEEK! 10-15 degrees above normal (average 38). This is good because we're moving my daughter and her 2 boys into a new apartment. We were worried about battling near-zero temps and high winds. It's going to be clear and warm... thank Goodness!

They're about 10 miles away and moving into another building in the complex they're in now. The weird thing is the apartments are essentially identical, but the new apt is owned by someone else. The complex was split up last year and a chunk was sold off... which is where my daughter is now. They're raising the rent nearly $150 per month and cable is over $110 a month. She's on disability, so she's on a fixed income. The new apartment stays at the current rate and the cable is nearly half in cost... so she'll be saving money! GO FIGURE!

I do build on my ideas about hero/heroine journeys in one chapter, but most of it traces the changing ideas of heroines in sci-fi & fantasy movies since 1937 and Snow White, asleep in her casket waiting for rescue, adding in TV along the way, to the super-superheroines Leeloo, Captain Marvel, and Elsa.
