Hobbit in Atlanta, theatrical production Can't Post

I noticed this--Synchonicity Theater in downtown Atlanta is doing The Hobbit.

It seems to be a kid-oriented, steampunk-inflected version of the Hobbit, a cast of 6. I don't think I'll go but if you're in the Atlanta area you might.

My local community theatre did this once [In reply to] Can't Post

It was quite a production considering it's a small community and also a cast/crew of mostly children. It was so great! But it wasn't steampunk-inflected.

They had some creative diversions to the story... like the 3 trolls were more like outrageous witches; but it really worked! Smaug was also fantastic and much like a Chinese celebration dragon with several people controlling legs, body, head, and tail. The performances were top-notch and the children playing Bilbo and the dwarves were incredible! I went to 2 performances because it ran for 3 days and they switched out those children. Equally incredible. And I'll tell you what... Gandalf rocked!

If you have a chance to see it, I'll bet you won't be disappointed :D The one here was close to 15 years ago, and I still smile every time I think about it. I wish I knew where those kids were now! They were SO talented!

We have been there and back again.
