I think I know what's slowing TORn down Can't Post

So...every other site but TORn is high speed for me, but, well...it takes a good couple minutes for TORn pages to load Frown But I noticed that the two things that the site seems to be waiting on are sideshow collectibles, and google analytics (the latter most often, btw but definitely both are having issues).

Once those show up, the sluggishness arrives...

I thought knowing this may help y'all figure out what in the coding, etc is dragging TORn down Evil

My writing and novels:

My Hobbit Fanfiction

My historical novel print and kindle version

My historical novels ebook version compatible with all ereaders

You can also find my novel at most major book retailers online (and for those outside the US who prefer a print book, you can find the print version at Book Depository). Search "Amazing Grace Amanda Longpre'" to find it.

Happy reading everyone!

Ah! [In reply to] Can't Post

So it's not just me, then? I've been seeing this TORN slow-loading for a while too. The other thing that happens (part of the same thing perhaps) is that the home page comes up without the menu bar items at the top, so one has to go roundabout to get into the forums - have you had that too? (The alternative access via the little square box icon on the left of the page seems sometimes to feature the forums and sometimes chat, which is awkward if you want the other one).

Just a Thought. [In reply to] Can't Post

You could bookmark the forums directly so you have the option of bypassing the homepage.

I second this ^^ [In reply to] Can't Post

I haven't had THAT particular issue-it's more just when I want to post something or bring up a new page those two things I mentioned in the OP show up as "waiting on..."

But I, like Otaku mentioned, have the forum main page bookmarked, so when I go to TORn I instead type in newboards.theonering.net and it autofills for me bringing me to TORn's forum page Smile

I RARELY go to the home page, to be honest, because I mainly use the forums on here.
