Couple of scarfies fishing in a coracle Can't Post

I'm rewatching the Lord of the Rings movies (Theatre edition) and came across a couple of scarfies - Otago University students - fishing in a coracle, when one of them gets pulled out of it by a big fish, and finds the One Ring - I'm referring to the opening scene in The Return of the King, of course ...
But it struck me that Deagol's accent was (if not the Kiwi one precisely) was near enough. And likewise Froko's accent was not a Kiwi accent as such, but it was very close to it.Has any9one else noticed this? That of the four hobbits, Merry, Pippin and Sam have accents based on regional English accents, while Frodo has one that sits astride at least two that I'm aware of - the watered-down English Received Pronunciation and the Kiwi accent. Perhaps with a tinge of the Californian accent as well ...

Elijah, like most American actors, not being able to "do" accents. Viggo's was oddly Midatlantic, and Sean Astin slipped in and out of stage Loamshire.
