Being so close to his artwork, so close that I could see the faded pencil-marks on his drawings or things like that - I've never seen anything like this, and Tolkien has been my idol for so long, and inspired me so much...I felt honored being there. It made me feel like I was looking over his shoulder as he wrote those letters, or painted those beautiful works of art - leaving aside all his other genius, he was a fantastic artist! His style, abstract and simplistic, with bright, bold colors, is absolutely beautiful: and the designs he drew for the book are lovely - particularly the sigils he designed for Idril and Luthien: those are amazing.

We had about 8 inches of very heavy wet snow, but it's pretty much all gone now. I'm not sure drinking out of that mug is a good idea.

Their snow melts quickly! I'm wondering if an infusion of certain herbs would "quench" any backward evil in the mug. (I just realized - does "backward evil" mean the mug is "live"?) Maybe some strong Earl Grey would sooth it?
