Former New Line Co-Chairman Michael Lynne has passed away. Can't Post

It's impossible to fathom anyone in modern Hollywood betting on PJ's LotR as he and Bob Shaye did beginning with that fateful meeting that has since been immortalized. Regardless of whatever bad blood may have followed between them and the filmmakers, they have always had my undying gratitude for that.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Lynne. Heart

"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that." - Viggo Mortensen

So sad [In reply to] Can't Post

That's a real shame. Rest in peace, Mr. Lynne. It's in large part because of you that we have these wonderful movies that will always be a testament to your determination and perseverance.

*gasp!* Oh no... [In reply to] Can't Post

This is so sad. You've said it so right... without Bob Shaye and him, we wouldn't be here and those historical films lost.

Rest in Peace... and thank you so much.
