Clickable links Can't Post

Posted today in 'Off Topics - PJ and the Fab Four' and couldn't make the link clickable.

I have Advanced Editor as my default and am using Microsoft Edge.

Any help, please & thank you.

Clickable links [In reply to] Can't Post

Links just pasted into the posting box do not become automatically clickable even in Advanced editor. You need to click the link (chain) icon in the posting box header, which will bring up a pop-up box. Make sure to delete the pre-filled http:// that is already in the box*, then paste your url into it and hit send. If you want to make a link attached to a word or line of text in your post instead of having the URL visible, then highlight that before clicking the link icon and pasting in the url and then that text will be clickable.

*Because otherwise the link will show up with two of them and won't work.

Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Thanks Silverlode [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought previous links I pasted were automatically clickable.
Thanks for the help.

Alternately [In reply to] Can't Post

You can copy and paste the URL, then in front of the URL type
and after it type

But use a [ instead of the {. If I'd used [ in the example, I'd have made "and after it type" a link! Laugh

This could become a game: let's make sense of code and punctuation [In reply to] Can't Post

I personally think that

and after it type

makes more sense as

! earl !
<she shouted to get his attention. but was he listening? >
"! earl ?!"
