Each month we will feature a small selection of the poems submitted, but we hope you will read all of the poems that we have received here in our Great Hall of Poets. So come and join us by the hearth and enjoy! If you have a Tolkien/Middle-earth inspired poem you'd like to share, then send it to poetry@theonering.net One poem per person may be submitted each month. Please make sure to proofread your work before sending it in. TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors. Monsters of the night! by D. McG Beware my twilight born children Of these creatures who give you a fright Tall and fierce with eyes of fire These monsters of the night! They gather there, beneath the stars And howl to the morning light. Then seek us out in hunting packs These monsters of the night! Their blades are sharp and hungry They feast on our dark blood so bright But their time in this land is over These monsters of the night! Clad in their silver hewn armour Dressed in their helms that can bite Protected by rivers and forests These monsters of the night! So beware my dark little Orclings If you go into the woods at night The Elves are out to destroy you. These monsters of the night ! ~~ * ~~
