Update on Billy Connolly Can't Post

He is such a brave soul [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm so impressed with his face-on attitude with what is happening to him. As I get older, I can look back at ALL of the changes to my outlook, mind and body. There's been so much good, and some that's startling! To see how Connolly embraces this phase of himself is inspiring :) The image of him as Dain Ironfoot charging the overwhelming enemy on a boar is perfect and so fitting!!

We all have this final chapter to our story. I'm so sorry he's afflicted and that his family, friends and he have some hard days ahead; but he has some lessons to teach us all about conquering challenges with his wit and strength. Not to fear this chapter, but to accept what's inevitable and make as much lemonade as possible.

Bless him.

We have been there and back again.

Amen to that. [In reply to] Can't Post

I have two friends facing Parkinson's. One has been having a hard time accepting it, but his stalwart wife and doctors are making sure he's doing what he needs to do.

The other has been facing hers head-on of years, accepting the changes and adapting to them, and doing all she can do and more. She's like Billy, gotta love their attitude!

And bless them all. No matter what, this is not a kind disease.

He has always had a great attitude to life and to death [In reply to] Can't Post

If you haven't seen his recent series about death, it is worth a look.Billy Connolly's Big Send Off
I just watched What we did on our Holiday recently and thoroughly recommend it. It's quite lovely.
