A ForeYule mathom for you all... Can't Post

I wrote this several years ago, but it looks like I haven't reposted it since 2010(?), so it seems time to bring it out again. Wishing you all a very Merry season!

Gammer Got Run Over by A Fell Beast

Gammer got run over by a Fell Beast
Walkin' home from our house Foreyule eve
You can say there's no such thing as Nazgul
But as for me and Gaffer, we believe.

She'd been drinkin' Gaffer's homebrew
And we'd begged her not to go
But she'd left her mithril corset
And she stumbled out the door into the snow.

When they found her on Yule mornin'
At the scene of the attack
There were wing prints on her forehead
And incriminatin' claw marks on her back.

Gammer got run over by a Fell Beast
Walkin' home from our house Foreyule eve
You can say there's no such thing as Nazgul
But as for me and Gaffer, we believe.

Now we're all so proud of Gaffer
He's been takin' this so well
See him in there eatin' mushrooms,
Drinkin' beer and singin' songs with cousin Belle.

It's not Yuletide without Gammer
The Party Tree all draped in black
And we just can't help but wonder
Should we open her mathoms or send them back?

Gammer got run over by a Fell Beast
Walkin' home from our house Foreyule eve
You can say there's no such thing as Nazgul
But as for me and Gaffer, we believe.

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of sloe
And a blue and silver candle
That would just have matched the hair on Gammer's toes

I've warned all my friends and neighbors
Better watch out for yourselves
And never ever give directions
To Dark Lords, wraiths, or twisted elves.

Gammer got run over by a Fell Beast
Walkin' home from our house Foreyule eve
You can say there's no such thing as Nazgul
But as for me and Gaffer, we believe.

Silverlode

Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Oh yeah, and watch out for the Gaffer's homebrew, also! Laugh

Love it!Heart

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
We can live in a world that we design
'Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

wonderful! [In reply to] Can't Post

I vaguely remember it, but nice to read it again!

I am a dreamer of words, of written words. I think I am reading; a word stops me. I leave the page. The syllables of the words begin to move around The words take on other meanings as if they had the right to be young.
