LOTR Caption Contest CCIII Can't Post

'Tis the season (for some of our TORnfolk) for snow on the roof and the shovelling of paths. What might our friend Pippin be thinking about in his own winter wonderland?
With thanks to StingingFly for his belief in jolly old Wizards, and to all of you, my best wishes for a very merry season!

"Apples from Dunland!" / [In reply to] Can't Post

******************************************
The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.Ē

Winner! And Cygnus shall reign - for a week or so! [In reply to] Can't Post

Bravi, everybody! I do enjoy the clever silliness of Tornfolk on these caption threads. Whatever is happening in our RW, we're always assured of giggles and guffaws here. Thank you, and may they long continue. Happy New Year!

Cygnus, have you discovered this website below where you can find screen shots from all the LOTR and Hobbit films to download? It's a goldmine for us film junkies. Wink Have a blast - choosing just one. LaughAngelic

What now? [In reply to] Can't Post

I am not joking when I say I am pretty bad with technology. I'm just not interested in it. In fact, I don't even own a cell phone because I've never wanted one. My wife surprised me with this tablet but I struggle to do the basics so I don't want to mess with the screenshot thing. Besides, since I'm new I might pick one that was recently picked Would it be a problem if I played but wasn't eligible to win? Would you mind giving the screenshot honor to the second place person? Thanks for picking me though. I just like to make people smile.....but having to learn technology makes me frown.

so consider your wish granted. I'm glad you spoke up as we want to keep you around!
Tech is not my strong suit, either, and I'm glad to have others nearby who are. Enjoy the next caption contest in peace, my friend. Smile Liss

Screen shots:
This is a great website for screen shots of LOTR and The Hobbit and many many more. You can download one and then post it like any image. Some folks add a link to the shot they post so we can see a larger view than is allowed for posted images.

Oooh ... wait a second there [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for all the linking help, but as to your parting tease, don't we stick to the LotR film trilogy on this board? I don't look in very often, but I believe the Hobbit board just across the hall does run their own Caption Contest activity.

squire online:
RR Discussions: The Valaquenta, A Shortcut to Mushrooms, and Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit
Lights! Action! Discuss on the Movie board!: 'A Journey in the Dark'. and 'Designing The Two Towers'.

Nice to see you here, squire, sir! [In reply to] Can't Post

Yours was, indeed, one way of interpreting my parting shot. As Cirashala also contributes on The Hobbit film caption threads, I reckon she worked out my meaning - as a warning and a challenge to wander through thousands of shots from the six films. A visit to that website is definitely like following Alice down a rabbit hole in Middle-earth.
Thank you for setting any unwary travellers straight, and I hope you'll join us on CCIV for a go at Legolas.WinkCheers!
