Fall Fest! What do you enjoy about/like to do in the fall

I pretty much like everything, dating from my childhood in Nebraska with the flocks (yes, really) of Monarch Butterflies and the deep red and golden leaves, to the greater variety of leaf colors and of wonderful types of apples here in the Northeast where I live now (hardly any Monarchs, though. ) Looking forward to your answers!

I seem to sleep better with a blanket or two, so I enjoy the cool nights in the fall. Living in New England, there are all the trains changing colors.

Well, I'm in Texas, after all. Plus, we don't get much of a fall season. It's just slightly less hot. Seasons in Texas: Football, Cold Fronts, Allergies, Fire Ants

Vermont and Mass., so both the terrain and the leaves are similar here, plus, we can just pop over the border. I thought our leaves were great in my home town out west, but the leaves here defy belief some seasons. And yes to the cool and the blankets.

(grew up in a football town). And my immediate family is from Oklahoma and Missouri, so I know something about the heat, although OK sort of gets winter sometimes, but not much of a fall. Never ran into those ants, though, but I guess they're there (?). I hope you haven't encountered any too personally!

Maybe I can start a game next time we have an event: "What do you think CuriousG *really* meant to say?" That would help decipher all my typos made in a rush. Or maybe New England will pick up on my idea and have its trains change colors to match the trees. Some of the best ideas are accidents.

and that perhaps there were "leaf peeping trains," so there wouldn't be all those annoying tour buses crowding the roads. I really did know what you meant.

no bugs, not so many people, don't get too hot & sweaty on the climbs, beautiful fall colors. One does have to haul along a larger selection of clothing for possible weather shifts.

I like to daydream about what fall is like for those with 4 seasons

I live in Southern CA and we just seem to have 2 seasons: summer and non-summer. I like to think about what fall was like when I lived in Alaska, Ohio, and a couple other places with a real fall.

I went to grad school with a woman from San Diego who was a fierce partisan of . . . well, of anything that mattered to her . . . and who kept insisting that there are seasons in San Diego, with examples like "some of the leaves turn brown." One of my nephews & family live in SD now, and they love it, but his wife is from upstate New York and she loooongs for a real winter. So we're all meeting at a ski resort in Oregon for Christmas.

I actually like reminders, especially in the winter, that it's summer somewhere else. Happy Spring! It's my favorite time of year.
