I think they should have whatever makes them happy on their special day.

No parties, bah, humbug.
5. What would be your dream birthday?
I had my dream birthday last year. The solar eclipse was seen in southeastern U.S. on August 21 (my birthday) and OhioHobbit and I drove 500 miles to visit a cousin in the path of totality and I got to see a total solar eclipse for the first time.
6. Candles, sparklers, toys, writing, sculpture, theme, pictures... what do you like on your birthday cake?
Just plain, please
7. Cake, cookie, pizza, brownies, veggie platter, pie... does it include ICE CREAM!!?? What is your favourite birthday treat?
Chocolate fudge cake -- I no longer bake much, so I buy a cake.

I like it. I actually did that at my daughter's 7th birthday party. The kids at the party were quite taken aback!

AWESOME! It was definitely worth the 500 mile trip to have such a perfect day... one you'll never forget! I'm SO happy for you! How neat for the Universe to time it just right :D

How neat for the Universe to time it just right
I knew in the 1970's that in 2017 there would be an eclipse in the east of the country. Just not the exact path or that I would have a cousin living right on the path. I waited about 40 years for that special birthday present.

2. What was you favourite birthday... so far? The last one. Mr. Eruvande took me to see "Hamilton" in Chicago. Since my birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, the city of Chicago threw me a parade!
3. What do you like to do for your family member's or friends' birthdays? Cook something special for them. The Little Goblin wanted tuna casserole for his last birthday. Yes, I make a helluva tuna casserole. 
4. Party or Peace? Crowded or Simple? I like any kind of celebration in my honor.
5. What would be your dream birthday? Sleeping late, a clean house, go out to eat dinner, go to a show of some kind with my family.
6. Candles, sparklers, toys, writing, sculpture, theme, pictures... what do you like on your birthday cake? Yes, please. Especially if there is buttercream frosting all over everything.
7. Cake, cookie, pizza, brownies, veggie platter, pie... does it include ICE CREAM!!?? What is your favourite birthday treat? CAKE!!

10. What do you think of the Hobbity practice of giving gifts on your birthday? We did that with the kids' birthdays. At the Little Goblin's last birthday, everybody got a nerf gun.

I keep it quiet, but my co-workers always seem to remember.
2. What was you favourite birthday... so far?
Many moons ago when I was about 10, my folks took us to the local riding stable for an hour's ride.
I was horse-crazy and didn't own one, so that was wonderful for me!
3. What do you like to do for your family member's or friends' birthdays?
I confess we don't usually do much. None of my family lives close by, with the exception of our son.
We make a phone call or send a card or small gift.
4. Party or Peace? Crowded or Simple?
Simple, please! I'm the wallflower type.
5. What would be your dream birthday?
A quiet dinner with hubby at home.
6. Candles, sparklers, toys, writing, sculpture, theme, pictures... what do you like on your birthday cake?
My birthday's in December, and my Mom had a tradition when I was growing up of creating a "Christmas Tree Cake".
She'd make a chocolate cake and green-colored icing for the pine needles, then decorate it with candles and
M&Ms. Sometimes it looked a lot like one of your included photos!

That must have been so surreal for you! When I was growing up, my best friend was also horse crazy. Such a lovely, pure infatuation. There's a special relationship with horses. :)

I acknowledge them, but I happy to just watch them sail by.
2. What was you favourite birthday... so far?
There are 2. The most recent is my happiest. I landed in Wellington to stay in my favourite city in the world. Just getting there, settling into my room and revisiting the streets and park made me cry with joy.
3. What do you like to do for your family member's or friends' birthdays?
Getting together for dinner and sharing so many stories and laughter is the best! Preferably at a restaurant so no one has to clean, cook, or deal with a party aftermath.
4. Party or Peace? Crowded or Simple?
Peace. Simple. Mellow :)
5. What would be your dream birthday?
Just did it. The dream would be to do it again!!!

Just candles if anything... although years ago for my 50th b'day, my sister baked a cake for me with this pic and the text:
Hear ye! Hear ye! All Bagginses and Boffins, Tooks and Brandybucks, Grubbs, Chubbs, Burrowses, Hornblowers, Bolgers, Bracegirdles, Goodbodies, Brockhouses and Proudfoots, and Sackville-Bagginses wish you a very happy 50th Birthday!
She drove 3 hours to drop it off at my house, gave me a massive hug, and continued another 2 hours to our Mom's. Wow....

A carrot cake with cream-cheese frosting OR yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I'll choke either one of those down ;) a la mode, of course!!!

My birthday is July 4th, so I celebrate!
2. What was you favourite birthday... so far?
When I was 16, one of my good friends had a party for me on her family's boat on the river. When I was 26 or 27, Mr. FF threw a surprise party for me. It's a tie between those:-)
3. What do you like to do for your family member's or friends' birthdays? Family: Make either a chocolate layer cake or cookie cake, whichever they prefer. Friends: Go out with them for dinner and/or drinks.
4. Party or Peace? Crowded or Simple? Party! But not too crowded.
5. What would be your dream birthday? I love the water, so if I could celebrate on a beach/boat/dock/pool with swim-up bar, that would be great! Or else go to a musical and out for dessert and drinks after.
6. Candles, sparklers, toys, writing, sculpture, theme, pictures... what do you like on your birthday cake?
Chocolate.

Potato salad. My favorite birthday dinner is pulled pork sandwiches (made by my husband) and potato salad (made by my mother). Mom makes me cake too, and it's also good, but the potato salad is the real treat.
