Scenes from the Hat Can't Post

(Why do I still feel twitchy about posting sfth on Main?)

This week will see the birthday of our own very dear grammaboodawg, and what I wanted to do as a Scenes from the Hat was:

If grammaboodawg were a member of the Fellowship.

So I asked her if I could, and received an okay - conditionally. Under gramma's very stern gaze the topic has been changed to:

If any TORnado were a member ot the Fellowship.

(Actually, she didn't want to be made a spectacle of all alone. Sly) So, here we go. If you take another TORnado's name in vain, Be Nice. (If you're talking about yourself, you can be as mean as you want to be. Evil) We don't need to stick to No Text any longer, but we do still need to keep it Family Boardish.

Let me be the first to say (a little early): Happy birthday, dear gramma! (Here is where the ice cream would be if I could figure out how to use Advanced editor to insert a photo but basic editor to not have this be all one paragraph...)

# Twenty-one, isn't it? Look out, grammaboodawg's legal! Wink

(Did we ever find out why hard breaks don't work sometimes? It's taken me a year and a half (all right, about half an hour) to post this...)

No doubt about it [In reply to] Can't Post

If Gramma were along, she'd be packing a honkin' great cooler full of ice cream. (And if I were along, I'd be cuddling with Aragorn - just to keep warm, honest!)

Happy, happy birthday, Gramma -- where would TORn be without you? Much the poorer, I know.

HERE Is the ice cream I was trying to insert into the main post. Boy, when ice cream doesn't want to be inserted, it won't be inserted. (*intentionally does not preview post out of sheer terror of total lack of line breaks again* I may never recover. *mops brow*)

Oh, and also... [In reply to] Can't Post

From reading Tolkien you'd think it was Galadriel's own idea to give the Fellowship all that stuff. You'll never guess who actually suggested it!

The move to Crickhollow would have been something Frodo didn't know about till the last second, though Merry, Pippin, and Sam would keep teasing him with comments like "Changeover in three days" and "The world is changing" and things like that.

If I were there, we would keep careful track of the wind direction, and act accordingly. [In reply to] Can't Post

The wind is from the East. Run away!

The wind has died. Don't anybody move.

The wind is from the West or South. You can come out now!

The wind is from the North. Charge! Unless we're due south of Saruman's Isengard, in which case, run away!
