Consistent guidance system Can't Post

Hello, as I'm fairly new to the forum I noticed something, and wonder if there is technically the possibility to change that, and if the admins would like to change it.

I use the collapsed view. In the main index, forums with new threads are indicated with a red NEW.
When I open a specific forum, threads with new posts have bold headlines.
When I click on a thread, new posts, again, have a red NEW next to them.

My suggestion is to follow one system all the way through, to make orientation easier and have navigation feel more seamless.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, I didn't find it using the search function ...

Thanks for all your work here Smile!
Mari

Hmmm... [In reply to] Can't Post

not sure how entitled I am to double-posts but ... may I briefly ask: does noone wish to comment?

Well... [In reply to] Can't Post

You didn't get an answer because nobody has much to offer. That is an issue with the board software (which we did not design and the Mods don't have access to) and I don't know how fixable it would be. My personal feeling is that it would probably end up more trouble than it was worth to try to change it. You could PM Altaira to inquire, as she is the most likely to know if it is even possible.

Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Yes [In reply to] Can't Post

It's part of the inherent design of gforum. Although it *may* be possible to change it, messing with it probably wouldn't be worth the time, and especially the potential to mess everything else up in turn.

Koru: Maori symbol representing a fern frond as it opens. The koru reaches towards the light, striving for perfection, encouraging new, positive beginnings.

Thanks, Silverlode and Altaira, for this information :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Never change a running forum ... can understand the cautious approach.

I find while confused at first, I've gotten used to the system by now. With my strong liking of clear logical structures I'd still smile if it were ever changed (by a software update maybe) but I'll be fine either way. Thanks for explaining -- removing question marks :)
