For me....Marvel edges them out but [In reply to] Can't Post

they're all okay. Wonder Woman was good.... but to be honest the upcoming followup has me shaking my head...the 80's for pity's sake.

None are as good as Marvel, but [In reply to] Can't Post

Dawn of Justice, probably, and it's hard to say why. Partly because I really don't like Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, but overall it was just too dark & I couldn't believe ANYONE would think Superman blew up a building. Why would he use a bomb? He has heat ray vision & can just break the building, so that part was DUMB. I actually LIKED Suicide Squad, but so far WW is the best by a mile. The other two were okay. However, I'm a little concerned about Aquaman. I like Jason Momoa well enough, but he can only play one character & the trailer looks like it's way too reliant on CGI. I am looking forward to the Flash movie, though. Ezra Miller pretty much owned Justice League, IMO.

An aside [In reply to] Can't Post

This isn't DCEU but it is DMV.

Did you know that the Williamsburg Virginia DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) was built on land that was formerly the site of all the hangings for the colonial Capitol of Virginia? Thirteen of Blackbeard's crew was hanged there.

Makes one wonder...

WB PR: Marketing can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.

Wink

I can't decide which is the worst film in the canon (so far). The best I can do is give the opinion that Wonder Woman is by far the best to date.

Justice League. [In reply to] Can't Post

awful movie, that one. Gal Gadot was great, as always, but everything about Ben Affleck's Batman is just bizarre and off-putting. Superman is a joke. Ezra Miller's performance was annoying. Aquaman actually did pretty well, and I have confidence that his movie will be a good one, but I'm gonna bet that Wonder Woman dominates the DC Universe for a long time.

Affeck's Batman [In reply to] Can't Post

I actually thought that Ben Affleck did a terrific job as Batman considering that they were basing this version largely on Frank Miller's The Dark Knight. That's not to say that I wouldn't have preferred a younger, less cynical Caped Crusader.

Valid, but… [In reply to] Can't Post

his Batman is just too much like some typical dude to have much of an impression. Batman has always been a little grittier in my mind. The cowl requires (I think) a more stern, grim face underneath it to make it look ominous, rather than like some guy in a Halloween costume. And the whole scene where Diana is massaging his shoulders or whatever…no. He just came off as weird to me. He needs to look and act really serious. They shouldn't look like they're just wearing the outfits and having fun together at a party. Ben Affleck never felt powerful in the role, at least to me.
