Middle-earth Conspiracy Theories: What was the real reason why Saruman refused to let Gandalf leave Orthanc? / Can't Post

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

"Mister Frodo, hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good frying pan at your side. I’ve been from one side of this garden to the other, I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Providence controlling everything. There's no Music of the Ainur that controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense."

He didn’t. [In reply to] Can't Post

Gandalf was a drama queen who made up the whole story to gain attention at the Council of Elrond. Sooner or later, you TORNsibs will realize Gandalf was a fraud, the whole Balrog fight was a ruse, and Saruman was the true hero of LOTR. I’m so tired of victors writing history and getting away with it. :)

They had just painted the long winding staircase together and the paint had not yet dried. That's why you don't start in the middle and split up from there. [In reply to] Can't Post

Gandalf: We painted it in grey, so I don't care, I can walk right through it and come down.Saruman: Noo, you don't!
