We've been visited by a Southern right whale who arrived in the harbour a few days ago.Already got a Facebook page.https://www.facebook.com/...ale/?hc_location=ufi with nearly 5000 followers.Some great photos and videos.

the boats do seem far too close. Perhaps the zoom distorts and makes it look closer, but I'd want to stay well away from anything that large and powerful. Hope this tale ends well for the whale.

But I hope it finds the way out soon. You always wonder what drives whales out from the deeps. If you've never seen the NZ film "Whale Rider" do so. It focuses on this phenomenon.
