I have 1,2,11,12,15,16 and am completely stumped on the others. (At least, I think I have 2 - is a syllable missing? does the answer have three syllables?)

I have just considered these as 'sounds likes' -- for your added enjoyment. So with six you have joined the ranks of Quick Post squad leader. Hang in there. I know you can make Two-feathered Shirriff. Thanks bunches for playing.

Maybe it will help jump-start some of our TORnsib intelligentsia that I KNOW are on this site. I’m left in the dust on The ‘Riddle Game’ over on ‘Off Topic’. It reminds me of a quote by George Gobel one New Year’s Eve on the Johnny Carson Show (paraphrase): “Did you ever feel like the whole world’s a tuxedo and you’re a brown pair of shoes?” So we know there are some super smart people lurking, lurking. . .

It was fun to try, and you must have had fun coming up with the clues. You must also be very widely read! I have never heard of Gil-Estel but google says it is another name for first letter ** tear in pieces ** financial transaction :)
