Correct Tengwar for Tattoo Can't Post

Hi Everyone!

So I'm looking to get a tattoo soon and as nerdy and overdone as it may be I am looking to get a quote in the Elvish Script.

What I want to get is the word "hope" but what "hope" as in a tattoo of the word "estel".

I happen to be a Christian and while Tolkien was not proselytizing through his literature the concept of Hope he uses is beautifully informed or at least beautifully reminiscent of my hope as a Christian.

According to Tolkien Gateway and my own reading of the Simarillion I agree with this definition that Estel is " an idea that "is not defeated by the ways of the world, for it does not come from experience, but from our nature and first being...Estel is also connected to the more immediate hope found in the Children of Ilúvatar that keeps them from being overcome by the hardships of Arda Marred; the Valar refer to this gift as the ability to appreciate "the Unmarred that they discern in the Marred". That is, the Children of Ilúvatar can see what is good about Arda in its present state, despite its corruption by Morgoth. It is estel that gives them this ability."

What I want to make EXTRA sure is that I am using the write form of "Estel" in my tattoo. When I try to search there is not a lot of fluency on how to transcribe "Estel" and then most tattoos on pinterest use the attached image.

I also found a chart that uses several variants.

if anyone could help me make sure I am transcribing right before it becomes permanent on my body that would be great!

Thank you!

'Hope' [In reply to] Can't Post

You seem to have a couple of choices:

The Sindarin version would be how Aragorn's childhood name would have been spelled in Rivendell. Here it is in a larger variety of fonts (larger image here):

"I may be on the side of the angels, but do not think for one second that I am one of them." - Sherlock
