The Riddle Game #3 Can't Post

In Minas Tirith’s library, Gandalf says to Aragorn:
“Look at this paragraph. I’m curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing is wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual, though. Study it and think about it.”
Aragorn looks and claps his hands. “Aha! Got it!”
“What?” asks Pippin, looking down at it. “I don’t think it’s that odd.”
Aragorn only grins. “If you work at it a bit, you might find out.”
“No coaching, now,” warns Gandalf.

Sauron: "Mine's better."

Ataahua is the new riddle-master!

Yes, the most common letter in the English language is NOT in it.

Your turn.

The Riddle Game #4 [In reply to] Can't Post

I'll put this in an existing thread rather than start a new discussion:

The final, the end of comfortable things,
Where shelter is hidden and old knowledge clings.
To find greater peace one must look to the west,
but here on this shore I'll lay down to rest.

What am I?

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

“Did you say 'You Shall Not Pass' or 'You Shall Not Sass'?" asked the Balrog.

"I said 'You Shall Not Pass,'” replied Gandalf; "and I wish you wouldn't keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly: you make one quite giddy."

"All right," said the Balrog; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of its wings, and ending with its shadow, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

'Well! I've often seen wings without a Balrog,' thought Gandalf; `but a Balrog without wings! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!’

Blue for the Ered Luin. I'm not sure about the gold, unless you're referring to the treasure that the Dwarves of Nogrod took out of Doriath?

Harlindon. [In reply to] Can't Post

If you meant Lindon as a whole, that is both north and south of the gulf. And Forochel doesn't really fit the riddle. I'm still stuck on the significance of 'gold' unless blue and gold are colors favored by the Elves of the Grey Havens.

I'm lost but a fun brain teaser.

Well, just a thought:
Ormal is gold, and Illuin is blue. So a sad guess is the mingling of the light of the two in the middle of Middle-earth.

Maybe will bring some ideas from those of more synapses than I Crazy

‘. . . the rule of no realm is mine . . .
But all worthy things that are in peril . . . those are my care.
For I also am a steward. Did you not know?'

The problem is.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I haven't time or brain power to come up with a new riddle for the next round.

Silverlode

Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.
