Could Durins Bane Become more Powerful Over Time Can't Post

A question for the lore masters. Could Durins Bane have become more powerful over time. So could it have gained strength in anyway from the first age to the third?

There is at least some textual evidence for evil beasts gaining power with age, so I'll say that it's at least possible.

Durin's bane was pretty much of the starlight earlier ages. Most creatures of that age where getting weaker as the age of Man approached. He might well have declined over the ages. Which meant that he had to be pretty strong in the past!
