Oh, mist definitely! [In reply to] Can't Post

There is no question about that. All you have to do is listen to the lyrics. There are Tolkien references in several Led Zeppelin songs.

Led Zeppelin: "Which one?" [In reply to] Can't Post

- "Stairway to Heaven" (possibly by coincidence)
- "Ramble On" (implied)
- "The Battle of Evermore" (Nazgul reference)
- "Misty Mountain Hop" (coincidence?)
- "Over the Hills and Far Away" (inference)

Here's a more detailed run-down at: TheOneRing.com.

And another summary at Tolkien Gateway.

I meant between The Hobbit and LOTR, which of the two is The Hobbit about?

Stairway to Coincidence [In reply to] Can't Post

If "Stairway to Heaven" was inspired by Tolkien, it would definitely have been The Lord of the Rings:
"There's a feeling I get when I look to the West And my spirit is crying for leaving".

However, this is allegedly only a coincidence.
