Even in days gone by the most essential, nay! the absolute qualification for high political office was a knowledge of, and a reasonable ability to play a decent round of . . . . . . . . golf.
Bandobras ‘Bullroarer’ Took ran for the Mayoralty in 2757 on the ‘Green Fields’ platform. He was closely defeated by Grabadoc Burrows who held the office for less than a year as he was impeached for needing a Mulligan on nearly every eighteen holes. Bullroarer, who was Deputy Mayor, finished out the seven year term, and it’s been said that after hundreds of rounds he never called for a Mulligan, but often did call for another round at the 19th hole.
