That poem tripped me up.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. ...but I should get extra credit for correcting them that Bill Ferny, not Sam, called Aragorn "Longshanks." I'm sure Sam would have thought it disrespectful. Unless it was in the movie? Too much of the movies in theis quiz for my taste. Good thing it didn't ask the name of Aragorn's horse or I would have missed out of sheer cussedness.
We are the fighting Uruk-Hai! We slew the great warrior! Well, yeah, first he killed a bunch of us and another whole lot of Mauhúr's lads, and we had to shoot enough arrows into him to drop a Mûmak. But we got him!

The trickiest one was the Macbeth question.

I stopped at 20 because this quiz is a waste of time for any true middle earth fan.And the first question is stupid, BIlbo left the Shire twice, and it doesn't specify final or initial destination.

About a half dozen of the questions concern Jackson's films--which I don't know well--rather than Tolkien's book, usually explicitly, but I needed a hint to answer #26 correctly. It asked from whom Gandalf learned of Sauron's plans to attack Minas Tirith. The right answer, says the quiz, is Pippin, who had "a glimpse of the enemy's plan. Sauron moves to strike the city of Minas Tirith". Is that from the movies? It's not in the book.

... in the movie Pippin looks into one of the seeing stones and sees a withered, white tree, in a courtyard in flames. From the vision, Gandalf discerns Sauron intended to attack Minis Tirith, even to the Citadel.

I stopped at 20 because this quiz is a waste of time for any true middle earth fan. Was supposed to be just a fun exercise.
And the first question is stupid, BIlbo left the Shire twice, and it doesn't specify final or initial destination. #1 Being multiple choice there can be no doubt as to which leaving is being referred to. And the destination is obvious for any Middle-earth fan such as you or I.

He mentions Macbeth IV, i in the Letters, IIRC. "Macbeth shall never vanquished be, until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come against him."

And it didn't really affect the answer, unlike no. 26 which in the book simply isn't true.

..I reverted to Gandalf's actions after the Palantir vision, you know, "Ride! Let not the swift wait for the slow..." etc

I deliberately got one movie question wrong. Tolkien never liked people getting too smart did he? Otherwise I might wear a coat of many colours and call myself Saruman! Yes, though I must admit this was a bit too movie over book for my tastes! And possibly a bit easy for the movie/internet generation. Although I have seen quizes set in forums such as these ones in the internet which where really tricky and I didn't know all the answers.

In the book Gandalf just assumes that Sauron will attack Minas Tirith because it is what anyone who wants to conquer Gondor would do and he knows that is what Sauron has been planning for a while. Although I think that Denethor has this confirmed to him be what he sees in the Palantir by Sauron,
