Would trade hand-engraved rune stones for Elrond Lego, Figures or Busts Can't Post

Hi! I have some rune stones that I engraved, and would love to trade for some Elrond lego figures or any of the Elrond busts that they made for the LOTR films. Here are links to photos of some stones, and I can also do some custom rune stones. I'm really open! I have a large (more palm sized) Elvish Friend rock, even. Feel free to contact me!

I would be interested in any Elrond lego characters or action figures from either LOTR or Hobbit. I only know of the busts that were made for LOTR, but would be interested in any! I am ELROND nuts, so if you have something else that is Elrond themed, feel free to contact me as well! :)

Also would trade engraved labradorite rune stone for Elrond items [In reply to] Can't Post

I also engrave real labradorite stones and would trade for Elrond items or a higher-end Elrond item. I can do the Kili rune stone or "Friend" in Dwarvish. Feel free to email me for photos of labradorite stones I have. :)

Again, anything Elrond . . . Lego, action figures, busts, statues, Weta statues, anything Elrond!

I love labradorite [In reply to] Can't Post

but unfortunately I have nothing to trade. Unsure. Do you have trouble engraving on labradorite and avoid it cracking?

Good luck!

Info on labradorite [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi! I never heard of labradorite until after we saw the second "Hobbit"! It is amazing! I started engraving rocks and then I found a place in Arizona where I could order some real labradorite rocks. I read all sorts of reviews for engraving and everyone said it chips or cracks, and you just had to be aware that it might shatter.

So, I was a little nervous, but we really wanted to make a few presents from it and I thought it would definitely be worth the shot.

So, I tried, and in the end I think I've done eight of them so far. I did not have any trouble with cracking or breaking or major shipping. Those problems turn out to be from the larger machine engraving or pressing or stamping. With the hand engraver, there isn't that much pressure, so it is really vibration that would damage it, and so far I've not had an issue with that. When you engrave it, it kind of chips it away, as the labradorite is a lot like glass in that way. It takes of minute chips and dust and that is how the engraver ends up "engraving". It wasn't too hard to work with, though. Makes me slightly more nervous while doing it, as they are a bit pricey. But so far, no trouble! We sold enough of them to pay for our lot, which made it nice!

Harder than softer rocks, definitely. However, once I got the special diamond bit, it did it fine. I have a carbide tip for softer rocks, and it doesn't even scratch it, even with the engraver on full power!

The other funny thing is that a normal pencil does not write on it. I have to use my special glass pencils to make the guide marks!

Here is a photo of one I did:

I would love to try the Dwarvish word for "Friend" on one, and do Amralime on one, as well. So far, I've just done Kili's , though! Sis and I always take ours in our pockets when we go out! Just something fun!

P.S. If you ever want to trade something that isn't Elrond, just let me know! ;) I do like other characters, too. Just . . . Elrond is Tops!
