Questions/advice buying a One Ring replica

Questions/advice buying a One Ring replica Can't Post

I've been thinking about purchasing an official Jens Hansen One Ring and I have a couple of subjective questions...

1. Should I get the inscription?

I really like the idea of having the ring without the inscription, as to me it seems more "authentic". But I'm interested in people's opinions on whether it's worth it, considering it would effectively be just a gold band. My thought is, if a friend comments on the ring, and I say "it's from the Lord of the Rings", that friend is likely to be less impressed if it's a plane gold ring, right? The inscription might make for a more flashy talking point perhaps?

2. Should I get a chain?

I also love the idea of wearing it as a necklace, much more than as a ring, but I have a concern about whether a metal chain would scratch or damage the ring its-self or whether the official Jens Hansen chain is sturdy enough for every-day necklace use, without fear of losing my precious?

3. Is there any advice from Ring owners that perhaps I haven't considered or you would like to share?

Do you own a Ring and are particularly happy or unhappy with some aspect? Any other questions or related discussions anyone wants to have, feel free to go off topic

Smile thanks!
