For instance, once I was watching a bit of AUJ (not sure if it was TNT or TBS or one of the other networks) and it came to the scene in the troll cave where the dwarves are burying the treasure. In the original version, Dwalin is watching them bury the treasure, then the dwarves make that humorous comment about 'making a long term deposit', and then it goes back to Dwalin who rolls his eyes. But when I watched it on TV, those few seconds where the dwarves make the comment about the long term deposit was completely edited out. So all that was shown was the dwarves digging and Dwalin rolling his eyes. P.S. If you edit a post about editing a movie, does that make it a double editive ?

That's why the dialogue and music don't sound quite right.
****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

Which is made even worse if one's TV has that nasty motion blur setting on.
