Beren One-hand versus Frodo of the Nine Fingers Can't Post

In a game of basketball "HORSE".

RULES: First player makes any shot. If a basket is made the second player must match the exact shot or he gets an "H". First to spell "HORSE" loses! Mad

So, who wins?? Unsure

Frodo [In reply to] Can't Post

Beren has greater reach, is able to play "above the rim", and will never commit an illegal double dribble. But Frodo has a quicker first step, is faster because it takes less time for nerve impulses to travel from his brain to his arms and legs, and can cross dribble.

But in the event:

"But going for an easy lay up in the summer on the basketball court of Neldoreth he saw Lúthien, daughter of Thingol and Melian, at a time of evening under moonrise, as she cheered him on the sidelines upon the unfading wood floor of the gym beside Esgalduin. Then all memory of the game departed from him, and he fell into an enchantment; for Lúthien was the most beautiful of all the Children of Ilúvatar. Blue was her cheerleading raiment as the unclouded heaven, but her eyes were grey as the starlit evening; her pom-poms were sewn with golden flowers, but her hair was dark as the shadows of twilight. As the light upon the leaves of trees, as the voice of clear waters, as the stars above the mists of the world, such were her triple jumps and her double nines; and in her face was a shining light.

"But as he became dumb, as one that is bound under a spell, Frodo stole the ball and with four more turnovers won the game, five-zip. But alas, going to the playoffs Frodo would choke at Oroduin's free-throw line."

-The Silmarillion, Quenta Silmarillion, Ch 3.1416, "I Love Lúthien But Suck at Basketball"

******************************************
The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

And the tears roll down the cheeks as the beauty of your prose takes hold!

*Getting zipped, Beren leaves the court in shame yet in a strange enchanted happiness*
