Ennyn Durin Aran Moria. Pedo mellon a minno. Im Narvi hain echant. Celebrimbor o Eregion teithant i thiw hin. = I'm main entrance into Dwarven hall. I'm iron; no enemy, human or hobbit, can enter. Thing in pool, I hear in air. Die. = Hi, human idiot. I am main entrance into Dwarven hall. I'm iron; no enemy can enter, nor bribe. I hear thing in pool. part of a collection of 'best-ever' anagrams, here https://wordsmith.org/anagram/hof.html I think I like the second anagram best.

So there's more than one "secret" written on those Doors! I like the first one, although it does make me wonder: how did Narvi know what a "hobbit" is?

He also, somehow, knows to call the place 'Moria', which is elvish for 'Black Pit' and seems an odd thing to put on your King's doors before the place has become the haunt of balrogs - a bit like Henry Ford erecting a sign outside his new auto factory saying "Welcome to the Rust belt". We came up with various 'fixes' for that problem during the last Reading Room read-through of that bit. Here's a link for anyone interested: http://newboards.theonering.net/...i?post=851531#851531

"Evil hot Demon deep in here hath no wing, ninny" is also a partial anagram (i.e. some letters left over). Odd that...
