Where to post about a LotR app...? Can't Post

Hello, TORNsibs! (I may be new-ish, but I read the important stuff like the jargon dictionary...)

I've got a topic I'm planning to elaborate on, specifically a LotR-based app that I'm developing. It came up recently with gramma and BlackFox that some folks here might like to hear about the process, and I thought that a thread might be the best way to post updates.

Anyway, the app itself isn't really a videogame or RPG and the topic is on the process of creating it, so I don't know that it belongs in the "Gaming & Collecting" section. I've been leaning towards "Main" or "Off Topic" (although the latter seems to have stuff that's really off topic, so I'm not really sure if that's the best of places either).

At any rate, I figured I'd leave it to you guys to help me with my indecisiveness. Is anyone else here interested in reading about this project; if so, where would you intuitively go to check out for updates?

Thanks! :)

The appropriate place to post a question like the one in this poll is on the Feedback board [In reply to] Can't Post

...and the Admins have the last say, for all intents and purposes. But what the heck! It might be fun to see how everyone votes - especially in the 'Other' category.

I personally voted 'Off-topic' but us Admins are only human (no, really, we are Laugh) and we sometimes aren't unanimous. So, we'll see how the others weigh in.

Another important thing to have read is the Terms of Service on the Welcome board that explains that you can't offer the app for sale here, link to where it's offered for sale, etc. From item no. 4: Links or banners intended to sell products... are not allowed. Also, for future reference, there are hints and instructions regarding what kinds of posts go on which board in the Main Menu view, and at the top of each board.

My husband, B.G., is a developer, so I'm looking forward to reading your updates! Smile

Off-topic seems about right. [In reply to] Can't Post

And I agree about this being an odd topic for a poll. Crazy

Heheh, whoops... [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks, Altaira. I read the lingo stuff, but I guess I merely skimmed on the formalities. Feel free to move (or remove) this as you like. It looks like the "Off Topic"s have it. Tongue

Thanks also for the heads-up on products and all of that. Actually, I hate banner ads, so Version 1 of the app is intended to be 100% free and without ads of any kind. I don't intend to do any soliciting, just putting up some fun information for anyone who'd like to hear it. I figure the TORn community ought to be the ones in the know first, since y'all are probably the most devotedly-geeky of the LotR fans on the 'net.

Happy Hobbit week. Cool
