I laugh and simply declare you the winner. [In reply to] Can't Post

But with the win comes the responsibility of selecting the next screencap for captioning.

However, I wonder to which universe did you refer?
In the books, Pippin piggy-backs a prince of Gondor.
In the movies, he sneaks past a guard who doses off.
In BotR, he visits Tim Benzedrine.
Had he figured in Tommy, he would have followed a religious leader.

I haven't seen Space Oddyssey, so while I could find the quote by googling, I have no sense of context.
So you only won popular acclaim.

"Really? Merry - and Estella?" [In reply to] Can't Post

As SirDennis said, I am an old softy - so this was my personal caption suggestion.

But being a father, had anyone come up with something like
"Friday is September 1st!" -
I would have immediately declared him/her the winner.

I'm Free! [In reply to] Can't Post

and Humbled, to win for my first entry in the legendary Screencap series.

I can't say I was thinking through which 'universe' Pippin was in. I simply had a 'separated at birth' reaction:
