Nappy Naps? Can't Post

Are you a habitual napper, an occasional napper, or does taking taps destroy your sleep patterns? For my part, my body tells me if I need a nap, so I fall under the 'an occasional nap is a wonderful thing' group. For B.G., however, naps really mess up his sleep patterns, as in he can't get to sleep the following night, so,he has to 'tough out' sleepy periods during the day by staying awake. How about you? Inquiring minds want to kno.....z-z-z-z-z-z-z

Not quite daily [In reply to] Can't Post

Because of the hours I work I do tend to nap during the day.

I'm like B.G. [In reply to] Can't Post

I love naps but then I am not sleepy at bedtime and it all goes downhill from there. I can't even go to sleep early without my body treating it like a nap, waking up wide awake a couple hours later and not being able to get back to sleep until near dawn.

The only time I can let myself nap is when I have had a night of no sleep and am too tired to function. And even then it can't be a long one or too late in the day. I envy easy nappers!

When I teach in the summer, and work part time in the morning, [In reply to] Can't Post

I get in the habit of a nap in the afternoon. Then fall semester starts and I find myself yawning through those afternoon classes.

I'm not a good napper [In reply to] Can't Post

and I really wish I was. One of my sisters can lay down for 10 minutes and be completely refreshed, and the nap has no impact on her regular sleep.

I CAN nap, but only before 3:30 or so. After that and I'm up until about 1 am. My naps aren't the quick 10 minute cat naps - they are at least 45 minutes. So I have to be pretty tired to nap - otherwise I'm like BG in that I tough it out and maybe go to be early.
