I have a few more coffee paintings to share with you! :) First out is Éomer, and Karl Urban whom I met at FedCon in Germany. Pictures of the painting and Karl himself are here: http://imgur.com/gallery/K2rMW And then there's Sam, on two seperate portraits, featuring Frodo on one of them. I met Sean Astin at FACTS in Belgium, and he got to choose which portrait he wanted to keep :) In this post there's also a portrait of the 8th Doctor from Doctor Who, and also the actor Paul McGann who was visiting the same show ^^ http://imgur.com/gallery/C35TL

And using the medium of coffee certainly lets your work stand out.

Fantastic, as always!
Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.

Amazing! Do they fade over time?

Your work is always amazing, and I always look forward to seeing your posts. Out of curiosity, how does the coffee stand up to time? Do they fade? Do you spray the finished portraits to protect them? My sister loves sketching, and we have a friend who does a lot of painting and inking, but coffee is a new idea! Regards, Sarah

They are sensitive, but no more so than watercolour paintings, as far as I'm aware. They will fade in direct sunlight, but otherwise last well :)

I've seen a couple of artists use coffee before, but my biggest inspiration came from Jenny Dolfen, who uses coffee sometimes in her watercolour paintings ^^

Do you just make drinkable coffee and then paint it on?

So, do you just brew coffee and then use a brush like it is watered paint? Is your coffee-paint thin or do you make it thick? This is such a cool idea! I only draw with graphite, but this is an amazing thing to see! Thanks for sharing the photos! Loved the one of Karl Urban holding it. So cool! Have you ever done Elrond? (My Hero!)
