Ah, memories!
GREENWOOD HOBBIT
True, all things must pass
Fondly I'll recall this place
But the new board's good
DARKSTONE
Yeah, let’s write haikus!
How many syllables here?
Hey, I need some help!
Stark white and lonely,
The RPG boards seem empty,
At least "Search" now works!
The new boards are keen.
Now if only I could think
Of something to post.
When doing haikus
Counting syllables is hard
Think I'll take a break.
GREENDRAGON
All farewells are hard
And sometimes it's sad to go,
But friends ease the jolt.
Familiar faces,
Fiestas, riddles, captions:
All carries over
And the new soon seems
Comfortable, homely, warm.
The past is not lost
But life and TORnsibs
Move on, together; ever
The party goes on!
ATAAHUA
Like a teddy bear
left behind in a child's crib:
Old TORN seems lonely.
What will eight years' chat
reveal to virtual
archaeologists?

Heading off they pause
In their rush from TORn's old boards
Empty home beckons
And one for the new boards:
Here across the sea
The waves are great for surfing
New board's so much fun

We go fearlessly
into the new openly
with one another
No more frozen boards
lost forever messages

I grew up on TORn
23 now, how time flies
Blobs, G.A.S, death and pies

More than memory
Rest my graying head
on a familiar form
in the sweet last days

Picking up the threads
Of an old life in a new
Place, and I love it!

Modding up everyone's post
Seems to take an hour!

But I will not miss that clock!
And small reply space.
Life is a constant
Movement, from old into new
Places; our hearts are here
And there as well; for
just like Bilbo, Frodo, and

Awaits to prove that it is
Worthy of our love

Once we gathered here

the chapter ends of the first
chronicles of TORn.
Chapter two found all
passing through the secret gate
to walk the new road.
Time to pack away
worn and road-stained cloak and shoes
and start fresh anew.
Confused as newbies,
not strangers, yet a strange land,
slowly find our way.

As we launch our ship
I wave a fond farewell
To a leaky boat

To see if gramma is here
Wandering old haunts.
If you are, my dear,
Can I keep you company
In our old abode?
So many good times,
Great friends, moots and memories -
Still so hard to leave!
TORn goes ever on
But our voices and footsteps
Will long echo here.
I love the new boards
But still some part of me dreads
That last Fiesta.
Together we stroll
Lingering, failing to leave
Till the last rays set.'

Embraced with words
that seem so precious when found
here and shared by you.
I'm tickled to see,
in this familiar setting,
you waiting for me!
I'll stay with you here,

touch the glow I'll always feel
when I think of this...
this place I cherish
because of the friends I've found
so special, as you.
Where is the quote that was fitting?
Where is the joke and the pun, and the bright wit flowing?
Where is the hand on the keyboard, and the monitor glowing?
Where are the movie rumors and the reviews and the tornsibs growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?
I'll have a cool drink of entdraught in my cup of parting, bartender! For when the lands that lie under the wave are lifted up again, then in the Fiesta Fridays of the Old Boards we may meet in the Spring. Farewell!

It took me a moment to recollect. It was one of the ways in which we got ourselves mentally ready for the new boards, of bidding the old farewell.
