I am a dreamer of words, of written words. I think I am reading; a word stops me. I leave the page. The syllables of the words begin to move around … The words take on other meanings as if they had the right to be young.

Worried about the tone. [In reply to] Can't Post

I hope it feels less like an action movie than that trailer suggests to me.

There are four lights.

Chris Pine? [In reply to] Can't Post

What a surprise - I didn't know he was in it! I am positive I read the book as a child, um, maybe 40-something years ago. I don't remember it very well, to be honest. Maybe I'll try reading it again, or maybe it would be better to wait until AFTER the movie, I dunno. But it DOES look like something I could take my grandkids to!Wink

Thanks for pointing that out [In reply to] Can't Post

I never enjoyed the book as much as I thought I was supposed to, but there were good elements to it. That trailer brought back some memories, such as the creepy monotone suburbia that's concealing malevolence. I look forward to the adaptation.

in the book [In reply to] Can't Post

the father hardly appears, but it works for me that we get more of the story leading up to the events of the book.

Meg was a heroine of mine as a nerdy glasses-wearing misfit in junior high.
