What a surprise - I didn't know he was in it! I am positive I read the book as a child, um, maybe 40-something years ago. I don't remember it very well, to be honest. Maybe I'll try reading it again, or maybe it would be better to wait until AFTER the movie, I dunno. But it DOES look like something I could take my grandkids to!

I never enjoyed the book as much as I thought I was supposed to, but there were good elements to it. That trailer brought back some memories, such as the creepy monotone suburbia that's concealing malevolence. I look forward to the adaptation.

the father hardly appears, but it works for me that we get more of the story leading up to the events of the book. Meg was a heroine of mine as a nerdy glasses-wearing misfit in junior high.
