How many [blank] does it take to change a Palantir display bulb? Which of these is correct?
Poll: How many [blank] does it take to change a Palantir display bulb? Which of these is correct?
13 Dwarves. 1 to extinguish the candle, 11 to complain about the darkness, and 1 to finally drop the chisel and just open the replacement hatch.
1 Elf. Because.
3 Eagles. 1 to drop it from the top of Caradhras, 1 to swoop down and check for cracked shell and lick up the yolk, and 1 to bat # 2 away, and just replace the darn bulb.
2 Morder Orcs, one an old campaigner and 1 new recruit, for his New Orc ingenuity.
4 Prancing Pony Pub regulars: 3 to figure out how to open the hatch, and 1 to "polish it off"

How many [blank] does it take to change a Palantir display bulb? Which of these is correct? Can't Post

Add your own, plus the reason in replies to this post. It's O.K. to repeat species/races if you have first hand knowledge (or a better storyLaugh).

None [In reply to] Can't Post

Elves: None, but they'll make up sad songs about the beauty of the lightbulb that was.

Dwarves: None, because after crafting the replacement lightbulb they become enamored by its beauty and refuse to part with it.

Orcs: None, for they prefer the long dark of Moria.

Ents: None, for by the time they finish the required entmoot somebody else would have changed it.

Huorns: None, for they need the darkness to hide their movements.

Men of Numenor: None, for they came to worship the Darkness.

Hobbits: None, for they’ll be too busy telling riddles in the dark.

Rohirrim: None, for they are Men of Twilight.

Spawn of Ungoliant: None, because they'll eat it.

Tolkien Purists: None, because changing anything of Tolkien's would be sacrilege.

Crebain and The Thrush: The one thrush to knock it open with a snail, and the whole flock to crow about it.

How many Swan Knights of Dol Amroth does it take to change a palantir bulb? [In reply to] Can't Post

What's the point? Prince Imrahil illuminates the whole principality anyway.

Do you know why they put bar codes on the sides of Swedish warships?

So when they return to port, they can Scandinavian.

One of the things I love about TORn [In reply to] Can't Post

is the fact that I can be absent from the boards for a long time, return at random, and click on the little green arrow to take me to the most recent post on the Pollantir, and laugh my head off.

Thanks, Annael, I really did laugh out loud! Laugh
