I DEFINITELY picked more than one [In reply to] Can't Post

Mostly watching the movies over and Over and OVER again; but as you know I've written fanfics, chatted with other fans (mostly here) and managed a trip to Middle-earth - your fine country, that is. What I haven't done but would SO LOVE to do is meet some of the actors, Peter Jackson, and some of the crew. Of course, I'd probably think I died & went to M.E. heaven if that ever happened, or I'd make a total fool out of myself gushing over them, so may be best if I don't ever meet any of them.

About making a fool of yourself... [In reply to] Can't Post

Years ago a group of us got the chance to see inside Weta Workshop - this was well before they held public tours. We were in the Weta boardroom when suddenly Richard Taylor came in and introduced himself, and asked if we had any questions. All I had in my head was white noise. Afterward HEAPS of questions came to me but at the time? Bupkis. Laugh

It felt very autumnal last week (in NZ), so [In reply to] Can't Post

out came LOTR for a read through. Best time of year. And visiting houseguests wanted to watch DOS and BOFA this rainy weekend. And I listened to Howard Shore's soundtracks in the car today on a long trip. So it is just that Tolkien time of year, I guess.Smile

The books [In reply to] Can't Post

I love PJ's films and TORn, but the books are the raison d'etre.

watching the movies, but I also like... [In reply to] Can't Post

I also like to re-watch the special features once in a while, which I recently did for all 3 Hobbit films. They're a journey unto themselves, just like the movies, and they're highly entertaining and inspiring.

Michael Pellerin is not given enough credit, in my opinion. He has created absolute gems for both LOTR and The Hobbit.

I can never pick just one ;) [In reply to] Can't Post

Reading the books (LotR/Hobbit/Sil) are definitely my first choice; but the films truly transport me, too. However... as I like to complicate things... I won't watch them when they're on TV. I can't STAND the chopping from ads and editing. PLUS I prefer to watch them as a Marathon, so I don't watch them as often as I could.

If I had only one choice, the books would be the winner. My first love :)
