I hope I'm not too late with this, but I had to think up and write a good parody!

First off, some of the songs I associate with Tolkien and his works are "Broken Wings" by Mister Mister, "We Built This City" by Starship, and "Always Something There To Remind Me" by Naked Eyes. There's really nothing I can point to that is Tolkien-esque, but I was listening to these songs a lot when I started reading his works. Finally, here is my parody. Going over what everyone else has posted, this song hasn't been done yet, but it is similar to others. *hint* *hint* *hint* ;) ************* Gandalf on the Bridge and Forth Eorlingas Forth the three hunters with no rest or pause Frodo in Mount Doom and the End of All Things These are a few of my favorite scenes The Third Age Last Alliance of Men and Elves The Fellowship of the Ring all volunteer themselves And Aragorn of Gondor is crowned as the King These are a few of my favorite scenes Eowyn defeats the Witch-King, and Galadriel’s Mirror Aragorn’s Black Gate Speech and Samwise the Brave is a hero The ballads and lays and dirges they sing These are a few of my favorite scenes When there’s no more For the silver screen And it makes me sad I simply remember my favorite scenes And then I don’t feel so bad ****** Genre is categorized as Jazz/Pop and was written in 1959. It is featured in a popular musical, staring a similarly popular female lead singer. I feel like this is rather obvious so the clues stop there! This was a lot of fun! Thanks, Rux!
"I'm not a Psychopath, I'm a High-Functioning Sociopath, do your research." "But I don't regret, nor will I forget, all who took that road with me. Night is now falling, so ends this day. The road is now calling and I must away. Over hill, and under tree, through lands where never light has shined. I turned at last to paths that lead home."

More Rodgers and Hammerstein! Love it!
****************************************** “Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!" "Come not between the Nazgul and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye." "Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may." "Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!" "But no living man am I! I am Eowyn, daughter of Theodwyn!” "Er, really? My mother's name was Theodwyn, too!" "No way!" "Way!" "Wow! Let's stop fighting and be best friends!" "Cool!!" -Zack Snyder's The Return of the King

Nope, not too late. We're still on the front page. Welcome, welcome! To the thread and to the boards! Your song selections as reminiscent of Tolkien's works are quite interesting! Especially the Mister Mister one. Coincidentally, I've had that song on my mind lately. Thanks for your My Favorite Things / Sound of Music parody! Well done! Your choice reminds me fondly of the time ROTK swept the Oscars. Billy Crystal was the host. The relevant bit I'm thinking of starts at the 7:06 mark, with his apology in advance to Julie Andrews. Cheers and thanks for contributing!
