Favorite Middle-earth film score. Can't Post

I love all the music in the Middle-earth films, but I lean the most towards FOTR's and DOS's soundtracks. I love all the soundtracks though!

Not a fair question, precious! It's not fair! [In reply to] Can't Post

I love all of the music so much! I chose ROTK though, because of The End of All Things. I love that piece! It's so dramatic and climactic and the Elvish is beautiful! I also really love Shelob's Lair, Twilight and Shadow and the Ride of the Rohirrim! But all of the others are awesome! It was a tough choice! DOS might be my second favorite followed by FOTR then BOTFA, TTT and AUJ.
The Elvish pieces are always my fave! Especially the one the Passing of the Elves from one of the extended edition cds that I can't find anywhere other than the library! It's actually the song to Elbereth Gilthoniel that's in the book and in the FOTR SEE scene!

FOTR runs an extremely close second.

Fellowship of the Ring. [In reply to] Can't Post

Concerning Hobbits, Aniron, the Isengard portions of A Knife in the Dark, the Flight to the Ford, and Amon Hen. Amon Hen always brings me to tears during Boromir's last stand.

I think its a bummer that you get find the other EE music. I have that same problem. That is why when I get itunes gift cards, I make sure I get the ROTK EE music! Our library used to have FOTR's EE music, but haven't been able to get it in a while.

Thankfully Youtube has the music!

Can't choose.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I have favourite tracks on all six. So much beautiful music.

And after them, there were some beautiful passages on the soundtrack to the BBC Radio 'Lord of the Rings' as well. 'Gil-galad was an elven king'... 'Seek for the Sword that was broken'... 'I heard of the horns in the hills ringing'... to name but a few.

RotK walks away with this honor - [In reply to] Can't Post

Quite like it did on Oscar night. And, while those ceremonies are meaningless before they commence, I can't imagine a time or scenario where the music in RotK would lose any of its magic or power.

Well... [In reply to] Can't Post

As far as Hobbit soundtracks go, I will go with Rankin Bass on account of the fact that there's no Ed Sheerhan on it, and their effort to write music to accompany Tolkien's poetry is commendable.

Leonard Rosenman's score for the Bakshi film is also highly underrated.

Voted ROTK... [In reply to] Can't Post

...as it contains the greatest number of themes from the LOTR trilogy, and has some of the most memorable musical moments (the Ride of the Rohirrim and the James Galway solo as Sam and Frodo climb Mount Doom stand out especially). The Breaking of the Fellowship from FOTR is also up there as one of my favorite musical moments in the trilogy, though.

I was not as much a fan of the music in The Hobbit trilogy.

ROTK is a beautiful score. [In reply to] Can't Post

Before I ever watched the movie, my mom had the ROTK soundtrack, so I pretty much had that music around in my life when I was younger.

So when I watched the film for the first time, I recognized the music and I realized what scenes it was associated with!
