I actually PREFER to have a real tree because of the smell and authenticiy of it. But, like Tolkien himself, I don't like the thought of killing a perfectly healthy 20 year-old tree just to greedily display it in my living room for 3 or 4 weeks. For that reason, I bought an artificial tree 3 years ago, and I'll stick with it, thank you very much. :)
