Boff uv em! A'yep, Christmas down under is a mite confusin' for someone from the northern realms. I just sort of watch it sail...on....by on it's surfboard - and eat lots of Christmas Cake (I know it's the right season 'cause those nice red boxes appear in the shops). And while cruising the interwebs I found this, in case anyone is here like "Roman" and wondering what to do with all this seasonal sunshine. http://www.backpackerguide.nz/christmas-new-zealand/ Thanks, Starling. 'Tis the season, indeed!

I've always wondered if he strips down to his skivvies or maybe a Hawaiian shirt and shorts when he's down under.
I am SMAUG! I kill when I wish! I am strong, strong, STRONG! My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunderbolt! My wings, a hurricane! And my breath, death!

so was not surprised at all by Kiwis celebrating summer and Santa. They, on the other hand, were quite surprised by the cold weather we had (including snowfall on South Island in late November).

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. So we had "normal" northern hemisphere seasons in that it got "cold" (60s vs. 80s or 90s) in the winter months but Santa didn't bother with fur (or even a shirt for that matter!) and came in on surfboard instead of sleigh. I think he let the reindeer graze while he delivered presents ...

For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood and every spring there is a different green. . .
