how do the forums post?

Can't Post

so i found a thread from a LONG time ago that i posted an update to, but noticed it didn't pop to the top of the forum list. do the forum threads stay stuck in place from the time they're created (that's what it kind of looks like to me)? if so, there's likely to be other threads that have migrated past the first page or two of a particular forum that might have an update that was worth seeing?

There are various reasons for this, one of the most important being that very long threads tend to cause us server problems and slow board response times. We found this out the hard way, and so you'll see the Mods locking any thread that goes much above 200 posts. But once a thread has fallen off the first page (or the Mods have had to lock it due to length), people are welcome to start another round of discussion on that topic, and you are always welcome to link to a prior post or discussion if you wish. If there's a thread that's still active when it falls off the first page (this is uncommon now that the boards are less busy), sometimes a few people will continue with it on the second page, but more often they'll start a new one. You can also manually sort the thread list by most recent post. On the far right column of the forum page, you'll see the heading Age (creation). If you click on (creation), it will re-sort to (activity) and the threads will the most recent posts will come to the top. This cannot be set as a default, but you can use it whenever you want to see what's new since your last visit. When in any thread, there is a row of green buttons at the top. If you click on "watch thread", you'll get an email whenever something new is posted in that thread. You can unsubscribe from any watched threads by clicking on the Edit Profile ring and then on "Watched Threads".
Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.
