"Grima, Son of Alfrid"

An article I wrote discussing the possibility that Ryan Gage's Alfrid and Brad Dourif's Grima Wormtongue are actually father and son in the Middle-earth movieverse, as well as the difference between headcanons and fan theories. http://whatsnewwithkru.blogspot.com/...a-son-of-alfrid.html -

Gríma's father was named by Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings; his name was Gálmód and he was presumably a Man of Rohan. It would hardly be possible for Alfrid to relocate to Rohan under a new name, marry and sire a son after he is killed by Troll in the Battle of Five Armies.

Pardon me. I attempted to add to my previous post, but took too long. Alfrid could conceivably be the natural father to Gríma Wormtongue if Gríma had been conceived before the destruction of Lake-town (presumably in October of the year TA 2940). Gríma's mother could have ended up in Rohan married to Gálmód, who would have become the child's stepfather. However, in the continuity of the Peter Jackson films, the War of the Ring seems to be fought in the years 3001 and 3002, making Gríma at least 60 years old when Gandalf and the Three Hunters come to Edoras. A Note on Times: We find out in the extended edition of TH:AUJ that Bilbo's eleventy-first birthday is September 22, 3000. This places the Quest of Erebor 60 years earlier in the year 2940. Frodo and Sam leave the Shire approximately a year later to reach Rivendell on October 20, 3001. Gandalf would have come to Edoras with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli in 3002.

Alfrid could never be a father because...

No woman in her right mind would ever sleep with Alfrid. Your assertion is flawed.

The world's oldest profession was surely present in Middle-earth (though JRRT might have asserted otherwise). Lake-town would have certainly been host to prostitutes.
